Helena and Aurora Ranges - New Date

The Helena and Aurora Range (Aboriginal name 'Bungalbin') is a magnificent banded ironstone formation (BIF) range about 100km north of Southern Cross.

We will be bush camping at the base of the ranges and there are no facilities nearby. Sunday we will go exploring around the area, returning to Perth on Monday perhaps via Beacon and some interesting isolated bush land reserves.

The trip subject to weather conditions as this area turns to mud after rain. An alternative trip will run if this happens, same type of camping trip, just different direction.


Due to COVID-19 restrictions numbers will be limited to 20 people.

Social distancing and health precautions are required to be followed.

Wandoo Day Trip & Bush Camp Out

Heading off to explore throught the Mudaring Forest and Wandoo NP before arriving in a new camp ground backing on to the National Park. We will also have Chris from Western 4WDriver join us and lead us around the new campground.

Woodlines Rock visits - Cave Hill Road

Self sufficient camping in the Woodlines area. Two nights at each spot, with side trips to rocks.

Lancelin Ocean Sea to Dune Summits

We're off to bound around the Lancelin Sand Dunes for the day. Starting off along the coast for a short Beach run before switching to the dunes to scamper up and down.

Mt Augustus and Kennedy Ranges

Having now retired, I plan to use some of my “spare time” (9 days) to go and explore Mt Augustus (the world’s largest monocline) and the east side of the Kennedy Ranges which are situated in WA’s Gascoyne area. How about joining me? The trip would involve plenty of driving on dirt roads, camping in various places (8 nights) and generally poking around the bush. The trip will be suitable for Forester’s, Outback’s and XV’s.

ON 22/23 AUGUST.

This is primarily a wildflower day trip through Jarrahdale and Mundaring State Forests sprinkled with history and an option to overnight at York (D.I.Y. own booking). It’s a beautiful area, and in spring a blaze of colourful wildflowers with much popping in and out of the car to admire.

Optional overnight at York (please D.I.Y. booking), back next day.

Porongurup Posing

A trip down Albany Highway to the Porongorup Tourist Park. From there we can explore the area. Some wildflowers should be around or a walk up to Castle Rock Granite Skywalk for those that dare. 

A competition for the photo of the best pose in a location on this trip will be run. 

Wheatbelt Rock visits

 Self sufficient camping in the Wheatbelt area. Three nights near Elachbutting Rock then two at Moon Mia, with side trips to rocks. Camper trailers and pets welcome.
